Abstract

Acute respiratory infections (ARI) are in developing countries a common cause of morbidity and mortality, and in Cuba, causing major health problems in the population of children under 5 years. Studies show that difficulties persist in the standardized case management, identification of warning signs by families and treatment of risk factors. That is why, from these results a literature review on relevant issues related to the IRA was made, which was given as supplementary material to all professionals involved in any way in the promotion, prevention, diagnosis and management of cases and all those interested in the constant struggle for the quality of life of our children.
