Transmural thoracic lipoma. Case report and literature review

Abstract

A patient with 45 years old is presented by enlargement of the left pectoral region of the chest, 10 years of evolution, progressive, asymptomatic course and slow growing. The left lateral radiograph of the chest showed a well-defined mass with intra and extra thoracic component with a homogeneous fat density in anterior projection. The patient was operated and was done excision of the tumor. The pathological results showed the presence of a lipoma, without affecting the previous costal arches. Due to the rare frequency of chest wall tumors, especially benign, the investigator decided to present this case as well as the most relevant and current studies respect to the variety of the same aspects
