Abstract

An investigation into the suicide attempt at school age in the town Guantanamo is done in 2011 with the aim of characterizing the behavior of some risk factors. Universe was consisted by 84 schoolchildren, age between 5 and 19 years, who made the attempt or self-inflicted injury and their guardians, too. Among the results were found the following: up trend in recent years, difficulties in monitoring for basic health teams (EBS) and mental health teams (ESM). It was concluded that, there is a program attention to suicide attempt, and doctors are not satisfied with the patient evolution as is established in the program.
