Abstract

A study was carried out with the objective of developing a proposal for capacitating intervention to assess the competence of physicians who care for patients with phenylketonuria on the comprehensive management of the same in the Primary Health Care and the Pediatric Hospital "Pedro Agustín Perez". The universe consists of physicians belonging to the Primary Health Care Policlinic " 4 de Abril " and the Pediatric Hospital "Pedro Agustín Perez". In this universe a stratified random sample of size 60, taking as strata specialists in General Integral Medicine (MGI), specialists in pediatrics, and medical residents MGI. The variables are used: scientific category, level of knowledge, behavior of the most significant scientific criteria by category. Little knowledge of the comprehensive management of patients with phenylketonuria is demonstrated.
