Abstract

A study was performed to determine the behavior of the arterial hypertension in a Family Medical Clinic of the Policlinic "4 De Abril” from January 2012 to January 2013. The universe is made up of 20 patients diagnosed as hypertensive. Age groups, associated diseases, personal and family medical history, modifiable risk factors, stage of disease, disease control and type of treatment: variables are used, too. This research provided that dominated the age group of 40 and more overweight staff, prevailing pathological family and personal history of hypertension, diabetes mellitus, with associated disease. Risk factors that excelled in the study were sedentary and stress, blunting stage II and controlled patients, being the type most commonly used combination treatment.
