Barreras de acceso y utilización de los servicios de bienestar estudiantil en estudiantes de Ciencias Biomédicas

Resumen

Introducción: el bienestar estudiantil es importante para la salud mental y el desarrollo integral; sin embargo, la existencia de servicios institucionales no garantiza necesariamente su utilización efectiva por parte del estudiantado.

Objetivo: identificar las principales barreras que limitan el acceso y la utilización de los servicios de bienestar estudiantil en estudiantes de segundo curso de Enfermería y Kinesiología y Fisioterapia de la Universidad Nacional de Pilar, Paraguay..

Método: se realizó un estudio con enfoque mixto, diseño no experimental, transversal y alcance descriptivo-analítico en 2025. La muestra incluyó 92 estudiantes en el componente cuantitativo seleccionados mediante muestreo probabilístico y 10 estudiantes de la Unidad de Bienestar Estudiantil de dicha universidad, en el componente cualitativo Se aplicaron encuesta estructurada con preguntas cerradas y escalas tipo Likert, así como entrevistas semiestructuradas.

Resultados: aunque el 100 % de los estudiantes reconoció la existencia de la Unidad de Bienestar Estudiantil, solo el 28,26 % manifestó conocer claramente el procedimiento de acceso a los servicios. El 63,04 % indicó no haber utilizado ningún servicio institucional y el 58,70 % no los utilizó durante el último año académico. Los servicios más utilizados fueron becas (26,09 %) y actividades deportivas (23,91 %). Entre quienes utilizaron los servicios, el 80,43 % manifestó estar muy satisfechos. Las principales barreras identificadas fueron falta de información (39,13 %), horarios poco accesibles (19,57 %) y costos asociados (15,22 %).

Conclusiones: las principales dificultades se relacionan con barreras informativas, organizacionales y estructurales, más que con la valoración de los servicios entre quienes lograron utilizarlos.
