Abstract

A retrospective descriptive analysis was performed with the objective of determining the behavior of STIs in the health area of San Antonio del Sur from January 2011 to January 2012. The universe is made up of 169 patients with STIs. The variables were analyzed: age, sex, school level, occupation, socioeconomic conditions and more frequent infections. The predominant age was 26-36 and 15-25 years, both female. The prevailed ending college level. There was a higher incidence in pre-university and university groups and a good economic situation. Among the most frequent infections were vaginitis due to candidiasis and chlamydia, followed by trichimoniasis.
