Abstract

A retrospective, longitudinal and descriptive study is done of patients with alcohol dependence and multiple entries in the Psychiatric Hospital "Luis Ramirez Lopez" Guantanamo, linked to the area south of the town, with the aim of identifying micro-social factors influencing the deterioration of the quality of life of these patients, from January to December 2010. The universe consists of all alcohol-dependent income of the area in the studied year (40 cases), taking as sample 36 patients selected for inclusion criteria; several in admissions diagnosed with alcohol dependence, Southern Health Area, that the data in the medical records are complete and have no positive psychiatric symptoms today. variables were studied : marital status, type of family, living, quality of life and associated entities.: Among the micro-social factors that have predominance in the deterioration of the quality of life of these alcoholic  studied patients is the lack of support from the family as the main factor that generates the loneliness and isolation of these patients. The results are proof that the quality of life for these patients is poor, and there influence factors are subordinate to the individual.
