Intelligent routing for the location and rescue of elderly people with Alzheimer's

Abstract

Introduction: the concern that the relatives of the elderly who are residents in the San Vicente de Paúl nursing home in the city of Ibarra have is mainly due to the frequent loss on the part of the patients, especially those diagnosed with Alzheimer's, since they lose the ability to recognize the places where they walk. Objective: provide a technological tool with intelligent routing that allows both family members and security personnel to carry out monitoring, prevention and location actions of the patient in case of loss. Method: an analytical-synthetic study was carried out that allowed us to design and structure the best route obtained through the application of algorithms in the analysis of strategic places with the help of Open Street Maps. Results: the use of the application developed a GPS device with voice recognition, which will allow the monitoring of the Alzheimer's patient with the mobile application developed for this purpose, with emphasis on the generation of the route with geolocation, tracking and intelligent routing algorithms. By combining the rules established and obtained from Open Street Maps, it will generate the shortest, fastest and optimal path to where the lost patient is located in real time for rapid recovery and help, which will provide the family and control personnel with insight. of greater safety and assistance for patients with Alzheimer's. Conclusions: there was effectiveness of intelligent routing, range and accuracy of voice recognition, obtaining positive results especially under normal conditions; It is then necessary to work on tests with real situations to have better objectivity about the work of the system and then proceed to know the level of satisfaction on the part of family members and control personnel of Alzheimer's patients in the nursing home.
