Abstract

A descriptive, retrospective and cross-sectional study was conducted in 60 patients operated at the Hospital "Dr. Agostinho Neto"Guantanamo, between January 2008 and July2014, inorder to compare two techniques (the conventional and modified Florcken) choledochoduodenal anastomosis. Different variables are contemplated: Age, sex, type of operation, diagnostic, surgical time, suture material, complications and death. The largest number of patients belonged to the female sex, and the most representative age was between 50-70 years. The surgery was performed electively; the most common indication was the gallbladder and common bile duct stones in both groups decreased in surgical time to 1-2 hours in the modified technique. The most common complication was wound sepsis. Mortality was similar in both groups respectively.
